Poppy Mosaic

This is my first mosaic piece at home. The heart shape is plywood and the tiles are 1cm squared. I didn't realise when ordering online, the tiny size of the tiles! Next time I'm ordering the 2cm square tiles and I have an assortment of MDF boards ready and waiting. I'm going to make more of these though, to sell on my next craft table - from £10 each - different designs.

This is the end result of a new experience - learning to mosaic on a day course at a studio in Otley.

Photos below show the various stages, from the design on MDF to the grouting once the adhesive has dried. 

Next project - working unaided! I've received birthday gifts of tiles, boards, grout ... just need designs and I'm "good to go"!
