Storage Hangers

I've made these "pockets" for storage from batik artwork. The first two are from a piece of batik I brought back from South Africa, and for the last one I created three batik owl pictures. For each hanging I used calico as the background, and regular coat hangers from the wardrobe. 

 

The hangings are currently for sale on eBay.

Felting - shibori sheep

After learning a new technique on a "shibori" felt workshop, I've been practising. The end result is now 6" x 4", ready for the postcard exhibition at Woodend, Scarborough (August and September). Below are the stages, from dyed merino tops , next showing the process of stitching and tying the wet felt, to finally removing the stitching, and needle felting the details like face, ears and legs. Loved doing it - more to come ...
