Shaun the Sheep throw

This was a "one off" experiment with knitted squares - not to be repeated! I'm pleased with the end result but the process was somewhat "wonky donkey"! I think the problem was that I raided my wool stash and used "leftovers" - whereas, if I ever did another, I would buy new wool - all the same make and ply.

However, it does what it says on the tin and is incredibly warm - ideal for over the legs when you don't want to put the central heating on!

I knit 5 vertical strips, two are navy blue and the other three have one or two sheep heads. The blanket has a wadding middle and the backing is fleece fabric. Another problem - my sewing machine couldn't cope with three layers, so there was a lot of handstitiching.

Not all negative - the individual sheep squares work well - I'm hatching a future project!

Scarborough Highlights Painted Welly

This artwork is painted in acrylics and then varnished so that it can be used indoors or outdoors. I've painted on an almost new Hunter's welly - a prestigious make which is why I left a small patch of black rubber showing at the top, to show off the label!

It could be purely decorative, or have a plant in it - or because of its height, it could be an umbrella stand.

The scenes are highlights of Scarborough where I live - the hungry seagulls, the lighthouse, the castle, beach huts, and of course, the beach and sea. Before I start painting, I paint the rubber surface with gesso to give the acrylic paint a surface to key on to.

Height 44cm/17.5"cm; sole length 26.5cm/10.52, size UK7

Weight 1153g

£30 free postage to UK Mainland

I still have the other half of the pair of Hunter's wellies, and am pondering ... what next? Please email me if you are interested in a bespoke design.

Scarborough South Bay Highlights mosaic

I have two identical deep frames and wanted to create a pair of local scenes. This one represents Scarborough - the inevitable seagull, beach chalets, the lighthouse, the castle and of course, the beach and sea. My second mosaic, below, is of Filey - it just needs grouting and framing.

SOLD

Frame 32cm x 23cm; mosaic 28cm x 19cm; 3cm deep

UPDATE: The Filey mosaic is now finished as below.

Both mosaics have been sold. Please email if you are interested in a similar one.

Lampshades and cushions

I found this gorgeous floral fabric and I already had some lampshade parchment, so I've been able to make two lampshades - one a drum shape and the other tapered. I can email measurements if you're interested in giving a room a refurb.

Add to that two 18" square cushions (with new inner pads - optional as I can sell just the cushion covers).

Please email for more information if you'd like to buy one item or all four items. A rough guide on price - cushions £10 each/covers £8 each - shades £20 each - discount for multiple purchases; postage at cost.

Rainbow bunting

Two more lengths of rainbow bunting finished and ready for sale @ £14 each, with discount for multiple purchases. Each length has 28 pennants.

Below are photos from Frank and Mal who refurbish caravans, showing their bunting purchase in use in two of their revamped vans. Please give them a call if you have a van that needs refurbishing - Marly N Beardys Makeovers

Mosaic House Plaque and practice coasters

I've just finished this house number plaque for someone who likes wrens, dormice and blackberries. It's on two 10" square outdoor panels, and is ready for them to attach to wood and fix to their front wall. Please email if you would like more information, ideas and prices.

Below, my practice pieces on MDF, which I turned into coasters. I decided the dormouse would be too small and fiddly to look effective on the house plaque.

Novelty BOOT BIRDHOUSE

This original BIRDHOUSE item began with a pair of discarded walking boots, which I painted with white gesso and then added a design in acrylic paint. One has 3 butterflies and a bee on a blue mottled background. Signed. Its partner has a turquoise green background with two butterflies and a bee. Each boot has been drilled for drainage and the design has been over-painted in clear varnish for protection.

I thought they could be planters - or bird feeders - or bird "boxes".

The wood birdhouses were made for me by a DIY handyman in my village and I have varnished those. The back panel has a screw in so you can fix it to a post. Please email for more information.

All measurements are approximate:

Birdhouse roof – two wood panels 12cm x 26cm + 14cm x 26cm

Back panel 47.5cm x 37cm (max) x 2cm

Boot 26cm x 20cm x 12cm(max)

Weight 1552g

£25 each UK post free

BEE MOSAIC

BEE MOSAIC PICTURE – an original, signed, framed artwork

I’ve been making beeswax candles recently to sell with bee mosaic coasters, and this inspired me to create a larger bee picture. I also wanted to use broken flowery pottery alongside regular ceramic mosaic tiles. Once finished, the picture was professionally framed at a cost of £38, using white backing board and a white frame.

All sizes are approximate;

Mosaic 23cm/9” x 47cm/18.5”

Frame 53cm/23” x 34cm/13.5”; depth about 3cm

Weight 2.3kg

£65 free UK postage

Mosaic BEE COASTERS and candles

BEE COASTER + handmade beeswax candle.

To complement a DIY candle kit I was given, I decided to make bee themed coasters to stand the candles on. Each “candle” is in a glass container with beeswax pellets.

UPDATE Nov 1st - all sold - I can do more to order if you email me
