Mosaic BEE COASTERS and candles

 

BEE COASTER + handmade beeswax candle.

To complement a DIY candle kit I was given, I decided to make bee themed coasters to stand the candles on. Each “candle” is in a glass container with beeswax pellets.

I've just finished two more lengths of bunting for sale.

These are the approximate measurements for the top length and the other length is very similar.

This bunting is deal for any celebration - NHS, stalls, patios, BBQ areas, car boot sale tables, caravan awnings etc. I’ve used 7 colours repeated 4 times.

Mosaic Butterfly Planter

 

This novel and original item could be an outdoor planter or useful for hanging and storing things indoors.

This item started with a new pre-formed butterfly MDF shape, which I covered in mosaic tiles. I then grouted and varnished it. Next I added the butterfly to a metal hanging planter with 5 hooks.

Rainbow Bunting

 

This double-the-normal-length bunting was a commission and it is currently on its way to London. It has 7 rainbows = 49 pennants.

Socially Distanced Seagulls painting

 

I’ve completed this during lockdown, hence the title. I started with a piece of oil paper onto which I poured acrylic paint in shades of yellow. Very quickly I added scrunched cling film, which I removed after about half an hour. That gives “texture” to the background.

The gulls are painted in artisan oil and acrylic. Once dry, I trimmed the excess background paper, and it is framed with a double mount and mid brown wood frame.

OWL with handy hooks

 

 

 

This is another in my series of "Handy Hooks". I've used mosaic craft tiles stuck onto a new chopping board. I've added two metal hooks on the front, for storing something like keys, plus a hook on the back for hanging the picture on a wall.

Puffin Mosaic Picture

 "By 'Eck. It's nitherin' in't sea!"

This is my puffin mosaic, inspired by living close to the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, Yorkshire, where I love to see the nesting puffins each summer.

The picture is signed and framed in a deep box frame. Photos below show progress in making it on a square of MDF.
