Wooden half bowl “shelf” with mosaic flowers, and HIGHLAND COW welly-planter. “Rescue, Recycle and Reuse”. Unique, signed

This item is unique … and will make an unusual gift, for someone who is hard to buy for! Birthday, Fathers’ Day, anniversary, Christmas, etc.
My current creating aim is to … RESCUE, RECYCLE and REUSE.

I’ve made two wooden “shelves” by sawing in half a 8”- 10” diameter wooden bowl, bought from a charity shop. The depth of the bowl is 10cm. I’ve made a highland cow design on this half.

To fix the half-bowl to a wall, there are two mirror plates, which you can screw onto the wall (wall plugs and screws provided). Or - as shown in the photos - I’ve added picture cord so it could be more temporary, and hang on the wall. It could also be a free-standing planter …e.g. on a window sill.

I varnished the two half-bowls before adding this design, and I varnished the cow welly after painting. There are 3 other designs currently available.

All measurements are approximate.
Charity shop wellingtons, child’s size 9. Sole length 19cm and height 18cm. They are not drilled for drainage but will take a 10cm/4cm” plant pot.
Weights: Shelf 308g, welly 279g = 587g in total
The welly was painted initially with two coats of gesso, then two coats of powder blue acrylic paint. The design has been added with acrylic paint.

TREE ROOT TABLES - rescue and repurpose

BIRD BATH using a rescued frying pan and tree root table.

All measurements are approx.
Weight 6.5kg; height 60cm/23.5”; max. width 38cm/15”.
Frying pan without handle 26cm/10.5” diameter; depth 6cm/2.5”

The pan is screwed onto the tree root, and contains yellow, black and blue domed glass tiles, plus a circle of square glass mosaic tiles. There is a thin layer of clear resin over the tiles.

The tree root coffee table originally had 3 small tables, and was used outside for many years. Eventually, it needed some TLC. One table broke off easily and became a Robin bird bath (now sold). The remaining piece was sawn down the middle and made as level as possible. Each piece has had 3 coats of clear wood preservative.

Tree root vase. RESCUE and REPURPOSE. Unique table centre

This item would make a vase stand or table centre.
The base has had three coats of outdoor wood preservative.
The “vase” was a quart oil can pourer. I sprayed silver paint over the original green paint, and decorated the sides with 5 mosaic flowers and random mosaic greenery. Plus, there are two rows of silver, bronze and gold small mosaic tiles. There is a small amount of resin in the can, over the screw, so it will hold water. I can include the glass vase which I used in the photo to hold the flowers.
