RESIN water over goldfish, mosaic seagull
on guard. Table centre, plantstand, teapot stand. Unique
This was an experiment, before I do an expensive
resin pour to create a river run, using waney edged wood.
The chopping board base looked new (charity shop). I
used thicker than normal glass tiles around the edge, and mosaic-ed 3 goldfish
(not grouted by choice).
Separately, my husband cut a seagull shape from MDF,
to which I added (both sides) mosaic ceramic tiles. I used acrylic paint on the
MDF edges. A “next time” thought – the beak didn’t quite work as it’s too wide!
I’m not sure how I’d overcome that, so I need to think of a different design.
Puffin next!
I grouted the seagull and the surround, making sure
there were no places where the resin could leak out. The seagull is glued to a piece of river rock. I added pigment to the
clear resin, and it has created a smooth colourful surface.
