Spring 2023 Wellies

March 2023 and the last few days have been icy cold and snowy.

I've finished these three wellies; they are ready for displaying spring flowers to help banish the winter blues.

£15 each (red welly now sold - sorry) - other designs possible if you send me an email.

A nod to Hilda and Stan's Murial

This was made as part of February's challenge at my local art club: MOVEMENT.

All ready for framing now.

Mosaic Stepping Stone

I was lucky enough to attend Francis Taylor's mosaic studio in Otley at half term, for a day's tuition in making a stepping stone for the garden.

Lots of new techniques to learn - the first being that you work in reverse!. I designed a lily pad with a dragonfly - it looks brighter on the underneath! I guess that's a learning curve understanding which tiles stand out the best.

Next ... to clean off the grout and cement dust , before "planting" it. More photos to follow once it is in situ.

Christmas Decorations - tree slices with mosaic designs

Approx size 10cm diameters

These are made by gluing mosaic tiles and shapes on a slice of tree trunk.

I designed these with Christmas decorations in mind, but one has only hearts on so it will be suitable for any occasion. Each has a string to hang the decoration, and is presented in a plastic pouch. Each has a double-sided decoration, as shown.

FOR SALE: £28 for the set of 5 decorations; free post to UK mainland.

Please email if you would like bespoke designs

e.g. for a party, a celebration, wedding favours etc. They don't have to be Christmas themed!

Greetings cards - silk painting, 3D and paper weaving

A few weeks ago I went to a cruise ship's craft classes, where I learnt new card making techniques and also made more cards using previous methods. I've sorted these into "lots" for sale on Etsy and eBay - or directly from my website. Please email if you are interested in buying anything.

margaret@wool-n-art.co.uk

In the top photo, two cards are made by weaving paper strips, and they each have matching gift tags. The other two cards, plus the 5 below, are silk painted floral designs.

Below are photos of decoupage 3D cards - owls, poppies, puffins and butterflies. The images are cut from 3-ply napkins. You separate the three pieces of tissue, cut the images you want from the top sheet, and stick them onto acetate sheets. When dry, cut around the images and glue to a card - PVA glue plus sticky pads for the 3D effect.
