Mosaic Christmas Tree table centre with candle

 

 

This is a "recue and repurpose" Christmas decoration, which can be used as a decorative table centre.

Base: 20cm x 15cm

Height of the cone: 24cm 

The base is a wooden board from a charity shop with added mosaic glass tiles. The candle is handmade from a beeswax strip. It is set into a glass container with clear resin. The polystyrene cone is glued to the wooden base, and it has glizy bathroom tiles glued to it. There's a handmade bead angel sitting on the top.

Christmas Table Centres with mosaic Robins

 

 

These 2 table centres are a combination of "rescue and repurpose", and detachable new mosaic robins, which could be for your own Christmas tree.

I used two gold plantpots from a charity shop, together with some old tree decorations from my loft. Heights 15"/38cm and 16"/42cm. The pots are filled with decorative glass pieces, and resin to hold the centre pole.

The Robins are newly made - I cut robin shapes from MDF, added mosaic tiles on both sides, grouted them and added a red pipe cleaner as a hanger. Approx. 15cm x 7cm.

They are ready for the Picturesque November 2025 exhibition, but are also for sale through this website.

Christmas Table Centre

 

 

Continuing the theme of rescue and reuse, I have painted a "four pot metal planter" in silver, highlighting the berries and leaves with green and red acrylic paints.

The two trees are made from MDF sawn into tree shapes, which I then painted and added mosaic tiles. Each has a string of lights. I've added a room fragrance set (bought from B and M) and a plant in a 3" pot.

Highland Cow "shelf" and Welly Planter

 

 

This is my latest "Rescue and Reuse" item - half a wooden bowl with a cord for wall hanging, or mirror plates so it can be screwed permanently to the wall. Varnished.

The welly has been painted in acrylics and then varnished. On the back is a highland cow; on the front is a cow head. Currently the welly is attached to the bowl with velcro, and it will take a 3" plantpot.

Puffin "shelf" and "planter"

 

I’ve made two wooden “shelves” by sawing in half a 8”- 10” diameter wooden bowl, bought from a charity shop. The depth of the bowl is 10cm. I’ve made a puffin design on this half. 

To fix the half-bowl to a wall, there are two mirror plates, which you can screw onto the wall (wall plugs and screws provided). Or - as shown in the photos - I’ve added picture cord so it could be more temporary, and hang on the wall. It could also be a free-standing planter …e.g. on a window sill.
I varnished the two half-bowls before adding this design, and I varnished the puffin welly after painting. The second half bowl is to be a Highland Cow design!

Highland Cattle

 

Approx. measurements:

The rectangular board   is 12” (30cm) x 9” (23cm), and the depth is 5cm. Weight 810g.

There are two coat hooks, plus wall plugs and screws should you wish to make it a permanent fixture on a wall. As a temporary measure, there is a picture cord to hang the mosaic.

I've also finished 5 Highland Cow coasters - £8 each.  

I bought wooden cow “outlines” and made coasters by painting a part of a piece of slate or pebble with brown acrylic paint, and gluing a piece of leather onto the back of three of them, before glueing on the cow’s head. The other two square slate coasters already had “feet” in each corner to slightly raise them from a surface.
