Ashness Bridge, Borrowdale PASTEL artwork

 

I love having holidays in Keswick every year, and a favourite walk is over the top from Rossthwaite down to Watendlath, then take the road back to Derwentwater lake side via Surprise View and Ashness Bridge. I’m currently working on an acrylic painting from the same photograph, and decided to use this source material on a recent pastel workshop. I’ve used soft pastels, on pastel paper. I used hair spray as a fixative once I had finished. 

The picture is signed (as best you can over pastels!).

The picture has a triple mount, to fit a new Dunelm photo frame – a black frame which is made from 70% recycled polystyrene.

Frame size 21” x 17” (53.5cm x 43.5cm) approximately.

Opening 32cm x 22cm.
