Batik Poppy pictures

 

The photos show the stages of the batik process, starting with white cotton fabric, then using hot wax for the resist before each dye bath. I lost the definition of the poppies with the final dye, so I decided to make two separate pictures, using wadding for a partial 3D effect, and then embroidery for features, eg stamen, stalks, petals. 

The finished poppy pictures are for sale - price £25 and £20 - plus postage.
